Rapallo to Portofino

Our first morning in Rapallo, Italy, we didn't waste any time getting started to see the sights that we came to Italy for.  We left Rapallo before we even had breakfast and headed out walking to Portofino.
There was an excellent pedestrian pathway for most of the walk.  It was an easy 6 mile walk.
We walked along the coastline and saw such beautiful sights.

Santa Margherita is a big beautiful port town along the route that we passed through.

The rows of colored chairs and umbrellas were such a sight for the eyes.  Not just here, but everywhere along the way.

We stopped along the way at a pretty place and had our breakfast and at another place for a cappuccino.  At one of the places, our waiter was also the lifeguard, he served us in his bikini swim trunks...but he did put on a shirt first.  Good thing nobody needed saving while he was taking our order.

It was so worth the walk to see all this!!!
Castle Brown was at the end of the port.
After spending the day in Portofino, we took a ferry back to Rapallo.
This is Castello sul Mare (Castle on the Sea) that is in the port of Rapallo.  It was built to protect the port from pirate attacks.
