May started off with my Mom having cataract surgery. She did great and is ready to have the other eye done...oh, but wait, first they have a road trip to go on, so it won't be until the end of this month.
Baseball continued as the month rolled in. It was fun to watch as Josiah learned to play.
The last game ended and he was so proud to receive his very first medal
We had a beautiful sunny day for Mother's Day. John and Jessi took me shopping to pick out some hanging baskets. It was so fun to be alone with them finding the perfect baskets. We took a selfie to send to Dennis because he pitched in to buy them too.
Mt Hood again...as always beautiful!
It never gets old!
I took Lina to pick out fabric for a little dress that Arianna wants to sew for her. She didn't take near as long as Arianna deciding what she should select.
I just love my time with these kids!
I have a little place that the kids have always called their secret garden. I gave them some rocks and other things and they made a little fairy garden there. We even made a swing set.
One of my favorite things that I have found to give them for Christmas is tickets to plays. It finally came time to take them to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show. It was all puppets. It was the first time Lina got to go to one. I was not sure how they would like it, but they never took their eyes off the stage! Even their Mom liked it. Afterwards, they had their books signed.
I met up with Maria and Alison and we went to the MidAmerica Garden, otherwise known as Sebright Garden. It was so beautiful that I had to take my Mom and Dad to see it the next week!
They loved it too!
Jessi bought me these crazy gloves a year or two ago. One of the hands has little claws on the fingers. I can't tell you how useful these have been for planting and pulling up moss and any other kinds of digging I might need when working in the yard.
This year is my favorite year in the yard. It looks better than ever! The first year, I really didn't feel like it was MY yard. It still belonged to the previous owner Stanley. I was afraid that he would come back and be sad about the changes that I was making. The next year, it was easier and now this year, I am full on MINE!!! Everything is trimmed and pulled and transplanted just the way I want it and I LOVE IT!!!
I love watching the hawks soar over the canyon. They just glide around effortlessly like that is all there is to do.
We have seen them before, but not so many! One day, there were about a dozen full sized wild pigeons at the feeder. It was crazy to see such huge birds try to balance and feed.
A little surprise I found waiting on my desk one day. John found it dead in the driveway. He knows I like that sort of thing.
These guys crack me up. They are at the end of the road where I go for my walk. They come running up as if they were puppies.
Rain or shine, there always seems to be fishermen down at the bend in the river. Sometimes, I wake up to the glow of a fire down there from them.
Ariel called John one day and they all hiked down and fished. They didn't catch anything, but had a great time. (Ariel took these photos)
Bazzel hangs out with me every morning on my little patio as I start the day.
The most amazing clouds one day. It was really different the way they just hung there in a flat row.
as the sun set, it was even more beautiful.
With all this going on, I still found time to strip and repaper the powder room. Then I had John put new tile on counter and I added a new sink and faucet. It is so much brighter and updated now.
These three photos were taken by Jessi and Ariel from a tree in their front yard. I totally love blue robin eggs and it is even better that they were in a nest and they hatched out!
Next for the month was Cyndi's birthday.
And last for the month was Arianna's graduation. She was so into it, singing and saying her lines and proud of herself, just like we are! Of course, I love the way her Mommy is so proud of her too, had to add in that part of the picture too.
